Scientific Publications on Pelvic Organ Prolapse
Pelvic organ prolapse including uterine and vaginal vault prolapse are major health concerns
affecting large numbers of women. The demand for services to care for pelvic floor disorders is
expected to increase in coming decades as the population ages.
At the same time, strategies and techniques for managing this challenging set of problems
is under evaluation. As laparoscopic technique advances along with understanding of the anatomy
and physiology of pelvic support, the importance of site specific repairs and post-hysterectomy
support are being recognized.
Two laparoscopic procedure kits developed and manufactured by Inlet Medical, Inc. address pelvic
organ prolapse:
Both procedures involve the uterosacral ligaments to support prolapse pelvic organs.
This section will focus on publications discussing the:
- Epidemiology of pelvic organ prolapse.
- Repair of pelvic organ prolapse with the uterosacral ligaments.
